Come join the fun!
I am hosting a CAL over at The Firefly Creatives Facebook Group.
Come make my newest design, Not Knit Hat, with a group of lovely people! We will have check-ins, prizes and support as you work through the pattern. The CAL goes over one weekend and should take only a few evenings of crocheting to complete.
Feel free to download any image and share with your friends and crochet groups!
When:
November 14 – 18, 2019
Where:
Firefly Creatives Facebook Group

Hook Size:
6.5 mm hook
Gauge:
4″ = 14 sts & 8 rows
Yarn Needed:
One and a half 50g skeins “Thick & Thin” bulky yarn (Approx. 75g total)
Specific yarn used: We Are Knitters The Wave
Suggested Yarn Altervatives:
This awesome yarn over at Jimmy Beans Wool
Malabrigo Caracoal:
Handspun Thick and Thin on Etsy
Yarn Notes:
The Wave by We Are Knitters is a bulky thick and thin yarn with the thinnest parts narrowing to about a lightweight/sport.
If you can’t find (or don’t like) thick and thin yarn, try and find a slightly textured yarn. Keep in mind that anytime you use a different yarn (other than the suggested yarn) in a pattern, you will end up with a different result. Be sure your gauge matches the pattern and adjust your hook or stitch count accordingly.
The hat is worked in a rectangle, then sewn together, so even with a different yarn/hook combo you can make the hat by chaining the length then working rows until it’s the correct size. Just be prepared to do a little experimenting/fiddling.
Have fun shopping or stash diving! Just please don’t bop me in the head (like little Bunny Foo-Foo) if your yarn of choice doesn’t work as well as you’d hoped! haha:)
Hope to see you there!
Abbey
This is so cute! Thank you for the yarn substitution suggestions!
