Fit for a Majester or a modest giant, this bit of whimsy in chunky yarn and big stitches is almost as much fun to make as it is to wear. You can make it in any two colors your heart desires: we chose Cameo Rose and Eucalyptus from Wool and the Gang, reminiscent of frobscottle and zozimus dream bubbles. Necessity is the mother of invention. My daughter studies ballet (which sounds very grown up, but she is only 7) but has not yet been blessed with an abundance of hair. After each recital we trim (or chop) her hair to let it grow in better. She really loves having a real ballet bun for practice, so we’ve always had to use a ballet bun form. After her last recital, only an inch of hair popped through the form! So before class, I whipped up one of these ballet bun covers to go around the form. She was so happy to have the appearance of a bun! This pattern includes 8 different kinds of bun covers. It’s a great stash-diving project. No specific yarns are listed in the pattern. Four options are given for lightweight yarn and a 4.0 mm hook. Four options are given for worsted weight yarn and a 5.5 mm hook. Large and Small Mesh pattern & Large and Small Web pattern in worsted weight & lightweight yarn. Spring Collection '19 sneak peek! I am so excited to announce that Monika (of @openairjournal ) and I will be releasing quarterly collections together💕 Each collection will hang loosely around a theme. (Gotta give this free-spirit some wiggle room, okay?) This collection is called "This is Me". For many reasons. 1. The Greatest Showman is the greatest show... Man. 2. I feel the need to introduce myself to many of you. 3. We planned out our year just a month ago and I was the only available model under such short notice. 4. I feel this is the year for me to "come into my own" if you will. (Look! I made the list with ZERO emojis or exclamation marks!!! 🎉😆😂❗) Monika and I had great talks and great laughs (per usual) during our photoshoot/sleepover. She helped me make my first IG Story. We watched The Greatest Showman while we made 40+ tassels. (And drank a bottle of our favorite Moscato... Shhh...) We discussed the need to represent ourselves authentically. Sometimes that means posting a photo of yourself laughing on a rug you made (crinkly nose and all!). Sometimes you post a video of yourself making tassels... At night... With no make up... And no script. Sometimes you feel like the bearded lady at the beginning of the song singing "this is me" through tears. Sometimes you are the bearded lady singing at the end of the song - about ready to take on the whole world. Know what? All of it is you. All of it is me. This is us you guys! Tears & brokeness, pitch perfect & spot-on choreography. Can't wait to share more! I hope you'll come along on this journey! Xoxo, Abbey
