Corolla In Flight – New KnitCrate Design

Hello Firefly Hook & KnitCrate fans,

I am so excited to share this new design with you!

I’ve collaborated with KnitCrate a number of times over the years and this upcoming box is by far my favorite. There’s a few reasons this is the best box yet: the theme this month is gorgeous and it features my most favorite yarn of all time – Malabrigo! If you scroll through my patterns, you’ll notice over half of my designs are worked up in Malabrigo.

The crochet design included in the subscription box, Corella in Flight, is worked up with two skeins of luxurious yarn. As you know, I am a crochet advocate. I wanted to design something for you that would be beautiful and functional.

I also wanted the piece to be as large as possible. Avid crocheters know that it takes more yarn to crochet something the same size as a knit piece. This scarf is worked up in single crochet stitches and chains, which helps the yarn go even further and creates a reversible fabric with beautiful drape.

This pattern also includes four different flower patterns for you to play with. Your scarf will truly be one of a kind! You can layer the different sizes and styles to your heart’s content.

The petals are created in one piece without finishing off. The edging and trim are done all at once too, so there are very few ends to weave in – which I know is something we all abhor!

Let’s talk about how to wear the scarf:

Long & dangly

As a pop of color in an all black or all white ensemble

Wrapped once or twice around the neck

Folded once & pulled through

Folded twice & pulled through

Draped over your shoulders and hanging in a loop down your back

I hope you’ll check out KnitCrate and consider supporting this awesome business by signing up for a subscription box! You can also go and checkout this design on Ravelry here.

Be well dear readers. Crochet often. Create always!

Abbey
