Bestie Collection – 5 FREE Crochet Patterns

This collection released this summer. It was SO fun to put together.

And it was one of the most fun photo shoots Monika and I have ever done.

We always do shoots with just one model. It’s nice and cozy and pretty chill!

Just me, Monika and one other person.

But this time, I asked my sister-in-law to model with her bestie.

AND my nephew came and got some shots of all of us as we worked for a promo video he put together for The Firefly Hook.

So instead of three people we had FIVE… and it was a blast!

Yes, yes… I’m getting to the free patterns.

These five designs come in pairs – so there are two variations of the same pattern and in some cases they are two completely different designs!

Nature Walk Treasure Bags

What are best friends for but to explore the world together? These Nature Walk Treasure Bags complete the Bestie collection by giving you the perfect satchels to take on your nature walks. These make excellent gifts for all the nature lovers in your life.

Festival Bandanas

You know who it is. The one who gets you. You go together like peanut butter and jelly, like peaches and cream, like popcorn at the movies. These festival bandanas are a celebration of the mosaic of color and creativity that is friendship. No two are alike! Now you can create one of a kind accessories to add color and pop to any outfit. Get ready with your bestie for festival season with these one of a kind bandanas!

Bestie Shrugs

Shrugs are one of those delightful confections whose sum is greater than its parts. When you take a rectangle and add sleeves, you suddenly have an accessory that adds chic finish to your little black dress or takes your daytime top into evening-wear territory. Now you have two styles to choose from. One for you and one for your best friend! And the best part? Each shrug only uses one skein of fingering weight yarn. FINALLY a crochet garment that doesn’t break the bank!

Friendship Scarves

Remember making friendship bracelets out of embroidery thread? I loved getting (and giving) those candy striped displays of affection. Now you can wrap up your friends in friendship scarves with colors and styles reminiscent of our grade school gifts.

Best Friends Forever Hats

Two lovely variations on the same theme: these best friend forever hats celebrate the unity and diversity within friendship. You will love making, wearing, and giving these classic styles!

These next two designs aren’t free, but you can purchase the PDF for 2 bucks!

They were apart of the Bestie Collection, but one was designed specifically for the Yarn Patch yarn shop in Tennessee!

Eclipse Cowl

This cowl is designed with two very special yarns by Running On Yarn – both were created for the Solar Eclipse Festival in Casper WY back in 2017 when the eclipse path was at 100% totality over this fine western city. (I almost made it there in time – just to the outskirts of town. Apparently, 99.99% coverage is still REALLY bright! But we were able to experience the eclipse’s eerie effects none-the-less.) Make this cowl in one color, or alternate two colors (as pictured).

This pattern isn’t free, the PDF is available for $1.99. See below for pattern info (materials, etc.).
