Here’s a little round up of my favorite hooks, books and yarn!
Lion Brand 15mm Crochet Hook
Sorry… I never write the letter/number when hooks get this large. I teach lots of crochet classes, and it gets really confusing for my students when the letter/number is inconsistent with the metric size – this happens when the hook gets larger than a 9mm. It’s annoying for me as a teacher to explain to my beginner students to look for a P or a Q or a 19, etc. when it’s just as simple to say, “Look for the metric size. You want a 15 mm.” Simple.
This particular hook is my FAVORITE to use in class. It doesn’t have a weird dip in the middle for a finger grip. This may appeal to some, but for beginners who need a lot of room on the hook to begin learning the stitches for the first time – that dip is a nuisance.
Addi Hooks
Of course, MY favorite hooks to use are Addi Hooks. I love the feel and the grip. I especially love that the handle stays about the same size even when the hook size changes. This makes working with a 3mm hook a breeze! I have sizes ranging from 2.5 mm – 6.0 mm.

The Complete Book of Crochet Stitch Designs
This awesome little book just arrived at my doorstep after some quick shipping by Amazon! I think it’s an awesome stitch pattern book. I don’t love the yarn that they used (Malabrigo Arroyo would have given better stitch definition) but it still helps to browse through this one to freshen up my designs! Check it out here.
Extra Yarn by Mac Barnett, illustrated by Jon Klassen
I love this book oh so much! I read books about yarn to the kids in my crochet classes. Jon Klassen is one of my favorite illustrators.

New free pattern: Monika’s Cowl
This cozy cowl was designed for my photographer years ago. She still wears this cowl each winter and I’ve FINALLY written it up for everyone to enjoy!
