Materials

Malabrigo Rios worsted weight 100% superwash merino wool yarn (3.5 oz/210 yds/100g per hank): 3 skeins in VAA

Skill Level: Easy

Gauge: 18 sts = 4” in sc

Dimensions: 30” circumference; 20” height

Notes

Rnds worked in a spiral. Use stitch marker as needed to keep track of rnds.

ch chain

dc double crochet

rep repeat

rnd(s) round(s)

sc single crochet

st stitch

Pattern

Ch 90, connect ch with sl st.

Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc here and throughout pattern), dc in each ch around, sl st in first dc to connect rnd making sure there is no twist in the circle. (90 dc)

Rnd 2 – 8: Ch 3, dc in each st around, sl st in first dc.

Rnd 9: Working in the back loop only, [2 sc in next st, sk next st] rep around.

Rnds 10 – 13: [2 sc in next st, sk next st] rep around.

Rnd 14: Working in the back loop only, ch 3, dc in each st around, sl st in first dc.

Rnds 15 – 21: Ch 3, dc in each st around, sl st in first dc.

Rnds 22 – end: Rep rnds 9 – 21 twice.

Last rnd: Reverse sc in each st around, sl st in first st. Finish off.

Attach yarn to bottom of cowl, reverse sc in each st around, sl st in first st. Finish off.
