Rnd 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), dc in same st as ch, 2 dc in each st around (if your number was odd work 3 sts to the last st to make rnd 2 = your preferred size, sl st in 1st dc to close circle. (stitch count: dc sts = preferred size)
Rnd 3: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), dc in each st around, sl st in 1st dc to close circle. (no increase)
Sizes 0—6 months, 6—12 months and Toddler: Move onto pre-colorwork rnd 1.
Child size: Rep rnd 3 2xs more, then move onto pre-colorwork rnd 1.
Adult size: Rep rnd 3 4xs more, then move onto pre-colorwork rnd 1.
Pre-colorwork—
Rnd 1: Working in a spiral (do not connect rnds), sc in each st around.

Color chart for 15 rnds—
1 square = 1 sc.
Each size rep color chart around rnd.
Sizes will have 6 (7, 8, 9, 10) circles.
Each circle in pink and space between in green = 9 sts.
When switching colors, switch on the last yarn- over of the previous sc.
Color chart rnds:
1 – 4 BL only
5 – 13 both loops
14 – 15 BL only

Post Colorwork Rnds—
Rnd 1: Switch to CA, working in BL only, sc in each st around.
Rnd 2: Sc in each st around.
Rnds 3 – end: Rep rnd 2 one (three, six, ten fourteen) times, then move onto CC interior.

CC interior—
Note: You can adjust the number of rnds depending on which color you want to show and how long you want your hat. Continue with CA rnds or move onto CC accordingly.
Rnds 1 – end of section: Switch to CC, sc in each st around each rnd until hat section in CC = number of sc rnds worked on the exterior. Do not finish off.

CC decrease rnds—
Note: Move markers each round as needed. Each rnd decreases by 7 sts. Be sure all ends are woven in and finished off before continuing because hat will be closed off to the inside once decrease rnds are complete.
Rnd 1: [Sc in next 7 sts, sc2sog (place marker)] rep around.
Rnd 2: Sc in each st around working a sc2tog at each marker.
Rnds 3 – end: Rep rnd 2 until only sc2tog sts remain around the rnd. Finish off.

To finish–
Create a pompom with CB.
Cinch initial CA hole. Weave tail though final rnd of sts in CC and cinch hole closed. Push CC section of hat to the inside and attach the pompom to top of the hat securing CC and CA together.
